Connecting to Community

Rainbow Connection recognizes the value of taking an active role in the community.  We participate in several community-wide events that benefit children.  We also provide opportunities for the families of our children to come to Rainbow Connection to get to know our staff as well as partner with the church.

    • Easter in the Park – we help sponsor the bounce house for the children and provide workers to help supervise
    • Relay for Life – we usually have a team of walkers who raise money to donate to this organization
    • Angel Tree/Coats for Kids/Toys for Tots/Operation Christmas Child – Rainbow children, parents, and staff donate time, money, and clothes/toys for at least one of these projects each year
    • Trunk or Treat – we have a station outside our door for kids to come by and trick or treat
    • St. Jude’s Trike Ride – we ride at Rainbow Connection and collect donations to send to St. Jude
    • Grandparent’s Day breakfast – all our grandparents are invited to come and have breakfast with their grandchildren
    • Back to School Bash – water slides are made available and we have a parent orientation to cover new policies
    • Thanksgiving celebration – families are invited to come and have lunch with the children
    • Historical Society Tree Decorating – Rainbow decorates a tree with items the children have made in class
    • VBS/Wednesday night choir and God’s Olympians – we partner with the church on providing supervision for the children attending these activities from Rainbow
